Hyderabad: In a major decision, the Telangana government has decided to extend the Hyderabad Metro Rail services beyond the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, along ORR, with estimated cost of Rs 60,000 crore. The project which includes 400km extension of the metro network is expected to be completed in three to five years.

The network will be extended under Phase-III of Metro Rail expansion. The project which has been divided into three parts consists of six extension corridors, Metro rail all along ORR for its entire length and elevated two level corridors.

KT Rama Rao, Minister for Municipal Admin and Urban Development, Industry and Commerce, took to Twitter to share details of the project on Monday.

Phase Three Extension of Hyderabad Metro
Part A
1) BHEL-Patancheruvu-Isnapur Corridor (13 km; Rs.3,250 Cr).
2) L.B.Nagar-Hayatnagar - Peddamberpet Corridor (13 km; Rs.4,500 Cr).
3) Shamshabad jn Metro station-Kothur-Shadnagar Corridor (28 km; Rs.6,800 Cr).
4) Uppal-Ghatkesar-Bibinagar Corridor (25 km; Rs.6,900 Cr). 5) Shamshabad Airport-Tukkuguda ORR-Maheswaram X road- Kandukur Corridor (26 km; Rs.6,600 Cr). 6) Tarnaka - ECIL Elevated Metro (8 Km; Rs.2300 Cr)
Part B - ORR Metro Corridors: Entire stretch of ORR.
Part C - Elevated 2-Level Corridors : An elevated two level corridor (one of that will be exclusively for metro rail) at JBS to Tumkunta and Paradise junction to Kandlakoya via Kompally routes.
Centre will be requested to provide necessary clearance through MoD area.
